Spectacular....100 foot falls. We hit this one at an absolute perfect time. I took a short video which I'm going to try to put up as well. BEST ONE YET.
Word of advice......leave your vehicle near the top of the road and walk down as the last part of the road is very very steep.
Visited this one Oct 29th 2008 which was after two days of heavy rain. Very powerful. The falls is not to far off the road near where Black Brook empties nto the Miramichi River.
Taken Oct 2008 near Pembroke Maine. This one was suggested by the Calais information centre. Heading south on the #1 highway take a left at the Pembroke post office. At the stop sign turn right then left as you start up a hill. Continue on this road and watch for the sign for the falls on your right.
Taken in the Oct 2007, in Machias Maine. We came across this by accident on a trip down Hwy #1. We stopped in this small park to enjoy a coffee and wow what a surprise.
A good friend took me to this one. Take the Bloomfield exit off of Hwy #1 not to far from Hampton. Proceed to Hwy 121 and turn onto the Guthrie RD. Go 4.1K and the falls are on your right. Note the access trail is about 50 yards up from the parking area. The falls has three stages, a 4 ft drop, a 12 ft drop and then another 18 ft drop.
The purpose of this site is to share my photographs of waterfalls in Atlantic Canada and Maine, USA.
I've only been doing this for a couple of years and it has become a hobby. The falls all have their own individual beauty. Sharing the journey and view with everyone is icing on the cake.
I want to thank all my family and friends who took the time to go with me on these adventures.
Remember to "leave nothing but your footprints" on your trip.
